Like Christmas lights gently floating in mid-air, fireflies always add a little magic to the forests they live in. But some firefly species add even more magic.

If you go out to the riverbank deep in the night, you'll be treated to this stunning light show. A whole forest, lighting up all at once, plunging into darkness, then lighting up all again – in near-perfect synchrony.

This was a mystery for nearly a century until some scientists set out to solve it.

How do thousands of fireflies coordinate with each other?

Who is the conductor of this silent symphony?

We have often drawn from the metaphor of these fireflies for our Alumni community ~ a relational field of nurturing relationships.

Our Alumni, spread all over the country, silently synched in their symphony, lighting this dark world. But again, How does that happen? Well, to be part of the mystery, join us.

While all the alumni continue to live and explore on their individual journeys, coming together visualizes the ways in which all of us are co-travelling and can co-travel as well as support each other along the way.

~ The upcoming 3-day residential Alumni Gathering ~

The Fireflies Field will be designed to enable the below experiences

So far, 80+ Alumni from all over India have signed up to be part of the gathering who are working across the spectrum of Education, Gender, Public-Policy and Research, Art, Environment, Health, Agriculture, and more. . . .

We are excited to be enriched by the deep experience and wisdom of

Amitabh Behar
CEO,
Oxfam India
Global Civil Society Leader

Rajni Bakshi
Founder,
Ahimsa Conversations
Journalist and Author

The gathering will also be joined by oldest companions of YA's journey like Prakhar and Tejal, a few mentors, and friends from the ecosystem to interact with you all from the learnings of their life. Often when we know someone has chosen the road less travelled before us - choosing the same path becomes relatively simple if not easy and through their perspective, we look at the world more deeply and holistically.
